The BSH Digital Library of the BSH showcases digital or digitised publications by the BSH or its predecessor organisations. These are: the German Hydrographic Institute (DHI), the GDR Marine Hydrographic Office (SHD) and the German Naval Observatory. The BSH Digital Library also serves as the organisation’s institutional repository.

Available are historical documents as well as current publications. The full-text or index search allows you to search all content or for specific documents. The emphasis is on historical photos, publications by the organisation and staff publications.

The majority of content is available for download or print. Its use is determined by our terms of use.
