Notice is hereby given, that a revolving 
light, alternating with red and white Hashes, 
at intervals of 30 seconds between the Hashes, 
will be exhibited on the evening of May 15, 
1870, and on each succeeding evening there 
after, from sunset to sunrise, from the old 
light-house tower, at Prospect Harbor, Maine. 
The height of the tower from base to 
lantern is 30 feet, and the height of the light 
above the mean level of the sea is 45 feet. 
This tower is on Prospect Harbor Point, 
Gouldsborough Maine, on the eastern side 
of the entrance to the harbor. It is built of 
granite, whitewashed, is connected with and 
stands at die southerly end of the keeper's 
dwelling, which is a one-story granite buil- 
ding. 
The illuminating apparatus is of the 5th 
order of the system of Fresnel, and the light 
should be seen in ordinary states of the at 
mosphere from the deck of a vessel 10 feet 
above the water, at a distance of 11 nautical 
miles.
