bottom-mounted and measured the currents within the whole water column from about 2 metres
above the bottom up to about 3 metres below the surface. The Narrowband ADCP had a vertical
resolution of 2 metres and a sampling interval of 60 minutes. The BroadBand ADCP had a vertical
resolution of 1 metre and a sampling rate of 10 minutes (see Table “Mooring Data FBB 1995”).
From all these successive RCM7 and ADCP data records an artificial long-term time series
for 8 and 25 m depth (record a95057 and a95058) with a “sampling rate” of 60 minutes has been
assembled. For periods with smaller sampling intervals of the original data records, the data have
been vector-averaged to 60 minutes. From these data energy density spectra are calculated. They
exhibit small energy peaks for diurnal and semi-diurnal tides which are barely discemable at other
positions. Spectra fbr other records are therefore not shown in this report.
Meteorological data for the FBB 1995 campaign are given for the station Puttgarden which
is a located only about 6 nautical miles SSE-wards off the FBB position.
Structure of the Data Report:
The actual data presentation consists of three equally designed parts, one part or data block
for each campaign. Each block starts with a table of Mooring Data which displays mooring
positions, instrument types, sampling times, sampling and water depths, record numbers etc. The
next tables show current statistics and extreme values, followed by by a progressive vector diagram
(PVD) and time series plots for each mooring position. For ADCP-data the time series from 4
selected depth are shown. These depths are also presented in the PVDs. However, the current
statistics in the tables are given for all sampling depths. For the FBB 1995 campaign time series are
only shown for the consisted long-term records, but PVDs are shown for each deployment.
At the end of each data block the time series of the meteorological data are shown,
together with a percentage frequency distribution of wind speed and direction..
